ACNielsen HomescanTM was launched in 1989, the first continuous consumer panel in Europe to use in-home barcode scanners to collect data. Currently at 10,000 GB households (with a further 450 in Northern Ireland), it will be expanding to 14,000 households in 2006, providing an excellent balance of data robustness and value for money.

Homescan panel is regionally and demographically balanced to represent the household population and captures consumer package goods purchases brought back into the home, including variable weight and non bar-coded fresh products.

Homescan covers all FMCG markets and channels and acts as a highly effective market tracking vehicle and consumer diagnostics tool, providing insights into buying behaviour
